Insight Asset Services understands the primary drivers of Asset Management: maximising service capacity of assets over their full lifecycle, with the most resource optimised management strategies possible. To enable this process to be undertaken effectively, asset owners need accurate data and insightful advice. At IAS we have been in the asset management services space for a number of years and have developed our company strategic goals inline with observed industry needs.

Specialised Inspections

When developing asset management strategies and models, at times more in depth data is required than generally available through traditional or summary inspection methods. At IAS we have cultivated our technical expertise and future development path, to embrace current and emerging technologies. This allows us to fulfil these specialised asset inspection requirements. We are focused on delivering solutions to clients within the parameters of high value and low disruption to operational asset use. Currently we are able to provide:

  • Remote area and special access inspections
  • Gravity pipe network inspections
  • Level 1 and 2 bridge and structures inspections.

Condition Assessments

Insight Asset Services staff have been conducting condition assessments of large portfolio assets for over a decade, and have adopted technological changes to field data collection through cloud based databases and computing. Along with this, we have significant experience in classifying condition and varied assessment criterion, utilising either adopted standards or special purpose assessment methodologies. Special purpose assessments may include, defect rectification schedules, remaining life assessments or obsolescence/efficiency assessment.

Life Cycle Modelling

Asset life cycles are at the heart of asset management. Without accurate, tested models, predictions are worthless. Insight Asset Services staff have been entangled in the asset information sea for over a decade and have developed a nuanced understanding of the required information that goes into usable life cycle models. From understanding construction difficulty, changes to technology, and environmental or obsolescence impacts over time. We rely on our first-hand knowledge and discussions with on the ground experts dealing with assets all day, every day. This cumulative experience is key when developing predictive models, as without an understanding of the unknowns, any model is just another colourful graphic in a report.

Maintenance Planning

Maintenance planning starts with good asset data, and generally finishes with more questions than answers. At IAS, we believe that a clear understanding of a problem is the only way forward to a solution. In most instances, large portfolio asset owners struggle with maintenance planning, particularly in the NFP government sector. Modern society puts significant importance on the next greatest and best that we can build. Unfortunately this means less and less resources for adequate asset management of aging assets, through planned maintenance and renewals. However, with regularly updated and accurate defect registers for assets, maintenance planning objectives can be better supported, and strategies developed to ensure asset return is maximised.

For these reasons Insight Asset Services is always looking to expand our data collection and analysis capabilities, to enable the most optimised asset management strategies are developed.

Criticality and Other assessments

Insight Asset Services are experts in asset data collection. We have completed many expanded project scopes to enable further outcomes to be achieved within existing projects. Asset criticality is an example where a number of additional data points can be collected to deliver an expanded outcome for the client, with limited additional resource investment.
